Why Self Care?

I am a strong believer in self care; that if we don’t take care of ourselves first, there won’t be anything left of us to take care of anyone else; and, contrary to popular belief, it is not selfish to take care of ourselves first.

What is Self Care?

Self care has many definitions. The main concept of self care however, is making the necessary changes in our lives to eliminate stress, overwhelm and dis-ease.

  • Are you a busy 40+ woman?  Do you feel there’s more to life?  What is draining you?   – Self care includes making a list of what drains you and making changes to eliminate those energy drains; creating more time for you to spend as you would like; or determining what makes you happy as you face the empty-nest, or changes in job and/or career or other life situations.
  • Are you a busy woman entrepreneur?  Are you feeling overwhelmed with all of the things you have to do?  Self-care is building a team to support your business – asking for help because you know you can’t’ do it alone;

Self care may mean creating a schedule that honors us and allows us to make choices about what we want to do, when, and how.

Self care brings us to our essence.

A few of the ways I practice Self Care:

  • Relaxing with my pets
  • Finding joy in every day
  • Having some “me” time”

Why Am I Unique?

I’ve been there and I’m doing that; and while I’m NOT a licensed therapist nor am I an MD, I have been practicing self care and I can show you many tools to use to get moving forward with your life

I have set standards for my life and I have boundaries in place to remind me to care for myself and that I have choices.

As we work together, I will help you:

  • Discover what’s most important to you
  • Discover what’s draining your energy
  • Discover ways to eliminate energy drains
  • Create a vision for your life
  • Set goals to reach your vision and beyond
  • Create a list of tools that you can use

Some examples of those tools:

  • Spending time in nature
  • Taking time to stop and breathe
  • Creating affirmations
